JOB SUMMARY
Position Duties: • Support quotation process for potential business. • Coordinates installation and validation of new equipment for new programs or volume increases. • Maintain and improve existing processes and equipment. • Provide trouble shooting support to existing processes and equipment. • Analyzes and plans production capacity, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. • Confers with corporate process planers and vendors concerning process design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. • Determines product specifications for the purchase of equipment, materials, tooling or parts, according to specifications, quality and standards. • Contact potential suppliers for production equipment and makes the final technical choice. • Follows the evolution of the equipment and performs acceptance evaluation accordingly. • Responsible for the implementation of the equipment on the floor from delivery to hand off to production. • Responsible for documentation, preventive maintenance plans and training. • Responsible to define spare parts subject to wear,define supplier and reorder point and quantity. • Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs on old and new productions to provide information for management decisions. • Confers with management and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. • Supports day to day production. • Involvement in team meetings with production workers to help determine and develop areas of improvement. • Works on new programs as assigned (APQP tasks). • Responsible for creating procedures, PFMEA’s, and work flows in an effort to meeting TS 16949 requirements. • A working knowledge of statistical methods and SPC charts. • Estimates, future manufacturing requirements and potential, help to ensure that the quality of the product produced meets all customer requirements. • Use cEngis, APQP and PPAP techniques to document and control new and existing programs. • Monitor manufacturing cost during series production to ensure it adheres to plan. • Support SFM (Shop Floor Management) • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, formal training, reviewing professional publications, establishing and expanding professional networks, and participating in professional societies. • Other duties as assigned by your immediate supervisor or department manager • Understand and comply wit TS16949, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, and OSHA requirements and all state and local applicable laws • Actively participate in Safety Activities and Investigations • Actively participate in meetings and training courses • Use PPE as required in specific work areas • Ability to train other associates in assigned work areas • Ability to communicate with associates, supervisors, technicians and managers • Basic computer skills • Complete required documentation and forms • Perform other duties as related to this specific position • Comply with all Corporate, Regional, and local HR policies/guidelines, Group Directives and Group Procedures that are applicable to your position. • Adhere to Suspect Material and Containment Procedure (W150-04) * For a more specific version of the essential duties, see the Functional Job Analysis (FJA) for this position. Essential Skills and Experience: • High School Diploma or GED • Prior experience in assembly/manufacturing environment, plant layout, cost analyst, budgeting, blueprint reading, pneumatics and hydraulics. Preferred Skills and Experience: • Minimum two year technical degree with two years related experience. • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) strongly preferred • Five plus years Manufacturing Engineering experience with an automotive company.. • Prior experience in assembly/manufacturing environment, plant layout, cost analyst, budgeting, blueprint reading, pneumatics and hydraulics.
